Members of the Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received information that the three men would be selling the powerful drug out of the back of a green and silver Chrysler minivan on Thursday, April 4, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
Members of the Narc squad set up on the park on found the van just as it was leaving around 4:25 p.m. and officers pulled the van over on Shippan Ave., Conklin said.
When officers approached the vehicle they could smell the distinct chemical odor of PCP coming from inside the vehicle, Conklin added.
The three men, Rasha Boyd, 35, of Bridgeport, Tyrell Hall, 34, of New Haven, and Norman Lloyd, 33, of Stamford, were ordered out of the van and a search was conducted, he added.
During the search, officers found a Mason jar containing 30 blue and pin Ecstasy pills, and another Mason jar on the front floor that contained mint leaves soaking in PCP, he added.
Officers also seized eight small ziplock bags of PCP soaked mint leaves packaged for sale and behind the driver's seat another ziplock containing 10 tinfoil folds of the PCP soaked leaves and a digital scale in the center console.
"This was a good job of getting the very deadly hallucinogen off the streets of Stamford," Conklin said.
The men were charged with possession of a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and conspiracy. All three were held on $25,000 bond.
